SUMMARY:Breaking Up but Still Connecting: An EFT Approach to Healthier Breakups
DESCRIPTION:Not all couples who come to therapy want to save or fix their relationships. More importantly\, breakups do not have to be traumatizing or detrimental; it also does not have to become the biggest failure in life. As couple therapists\, we need to be able to help these couples break up with compassion\, appreciation\, dignity\, clarity\, and self-worth as they move through this painful and scary process. \nThis workshop will focus on two challenging issues in couple therapy: (1) how to help couples who are indecisive or with different goals whereas one wants to end and the other wants to save the relationship; (2) how to help couples go through three stages of EFT to end the relationship while maintaining some levels of connection. Methods of presentation will include didactic teaching\, experiential exercise\, video demonstration and discussion.’ \nRegistration fees:\n$600- full fee (after 4/10/26)\n$575- early bird (before 4/10/26)\n$550- CMH clinician\, equity\, student\n$517- PCEFT member rate \nCEUs:\n12\n \nDates: \nApril 24-25\, 2026 \nTime:\n9 AM – 4:30 PM (Eastern) \nLocation:\nThe Retreat at St. Thomas (7020 Camp Hill Rd.\, Fort Washington\, PA 19034) \nCancelation policy: \nIf notified in writing of canceling by 4/1/2026\, the fee will be refunded minus $50 administrative fee. The fee is non-refundable after 4/1/2026. \nCEU Provider\nPhoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy (Lic. #004115) is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers\, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors to offer continuing education for social workers\, marriage and family therapists and professional counselors. The Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy (Lic. # PSY000215) is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology to offer continuing education for psychologists. SUMMARY:All the World’s a Stage: How to use EFIT to Unpack the Impact of Current Events in the Here and Now
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Purvi Parikh-Shah\, PhD\, Certified EFT Therapist and Supervisor-in-Training \nFriday\, April 10\, 202612-1 PM (ET)Zoom \nPCEFT Members: FREENon-Members/Guests: $35 \nAs EFT therapists\, we need a way to explicitly discuss race\, war\, ICE raids\, artificial intelligence or climate crises with our clients. These issues are more than “content” because the microcosm of clients’ attachment distress unfolds within the macrocosm of the world. Hence\, the impact of current events cycles into our clients’ present moment experience. In more than one EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy) session in the past month\, geopolitical events have presented as threats to Dr. Purvi Parikh-Shah’s clients’ relational spheres; you may have noticed a similar thing in your work. In this training\, Purvi (Certified EFT & EFIT Therapist & Supervisor-in-Training) will model how she has used EFIT to apply an attachment lens to attune with her clients in their sociocultural distress. If you feel unsure of how to process your clients’ experience of a current event in a way that’s specific to them and true to EFT\, please join this critical discussion. \n\nThank You for your interest\, Online Registration for this event has ended.

SUMMARY:Adapting EFCT Interventions for Couples Entering Stage 2
DESCRIPTION:PCEFT MEMBERS – FREE\nPCEFT Guests – $20 \nTherapists learning EFT spend much of their time mastering skills needed for Stage 1. When their clients begin to de-escalate\, many therapists find they are uncertain about how their interventions will differ in Stage 2. They may even discover that some of the skills that facilitated de-escalation are hindering progress in Stage 2. \nIn this 90-minute Lunch & Learn\, Ruth Jampol\, Ph.D.\, Certified EFCT Supervisor\, and Jill Knerr\, LMFT will explain how the therapist’s focus\, pacing\, and interventions change in Stage 2. Through teaching\, video presentation\, and group participation\, participants will learn: \n\nhow to identify markers of readiness for Stage 2;\nhow therapist interventions change in Stage 2; and\nhow Stage 2 interventions allow a deeper exploration of each partner’s vulnerabilities\, attachment longings\, and fears.\n\nSorry. SUMMARY:Working with Individuals in a Relational Context: An EFIT Perspective
DESCRIPTION:A central premise of Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) is that a key to profound personal change lies in corrective emotional experiences\, both within the therapeutic relationship and through clients’ internal shifts. \nIn this one-hour talk\, Dr. Ting Liu will share her experience as a therapist on how to provide a secure base where clients can explore deep\, vulnerable emotions like shame\, fear\, sadness\, and ambivalence. Through the secure therapeutic alliance\, clients are empowered to challenge old patterns\, process difficult experiences\, and ultimately reformulate more positive and integrated views of self and others\, fostering lasting change. \n  \n\nSorry. SUMMARY:Coding for emotion in EFT: How to find cues\, clues and clarity in content.
DESCRIPTION:PCEFT Members: FREE\nNon-Members/Guests: $30 \nThis training would benefit beginner therapists or those looking for a refresher if you find yourself getting lost in content. You’re not alone! We’ll practice how to focus and what to focus on when we interface with client content so we can stay with the emotion process. We’ll look at scripts or parts of a client’s tape to learn how to train our focus on move 1 to track present moment emotion experience. While staying attuned in the emotion channel with move 1\, we’ll use move 2 to identify and make explicit the elements of emotion so as to find cues\, clues and clarity in content.\n \nSorry.
